Seven District portfolio company ACRE has acquired Grenverket, a well-established arborist and tree care company based on Hammarö outside Karlstad. The acquisition strengthens ACRE’s local presence in Värmland and expands the group’s capacity in the strategically important region between western Sweden and Dalarna.
Grenverket brings a team of around ten employees and a strong local position in Värmland. Founder Fredrik Ellström will continue to lead the local operations, while customers retain their existing contacts and agreements. During a transition period, the company will operate as “Grenverket, part of ACRE”, before being fully integrated into ACRE during 2027.
Combining local entrepreneurship with a broader platform
The acquisition gives Grenverket access to ACRE’s broader capabilities, internal training and nationwide competence network, while ACRE strengthens its local delivery capacity and expertise in Värmland.
Over time, Grenverket’s customers will also gain access to ACRE’s broader service offering across arborist services, forestry maintenance within infrastructure, green space management and nature conservation in protected environments.
“By bringing together two strong companies, we strengthen both our local presence and our delivery capacity. Our commercial drive and growth journey set us apart, but safety and quality will always come first,” says Joacim Wendel, CEO of ACRE.
“As part of ACRE, we and our team gain access to broader expertise, internal training and greater capacity. This gives us the opportunity to continue developing the business together with our customers in Värmland,” says Fredrik Ellström, founder of Grenverket.
Building scale while retaining local strength
For Seven District, the acquisition illustrates an important part of the value creation opportunity in ACRE: combining strong local operators and customer relationships with the capabilities, structure and scale of a broader group.
Grenverket is a strong addition to ACRE and a good example of how the platform can continue to grow without losing the local entrepreneurship and customer proximity that make these businesses successful.
“By adding relevant local capabilities to ACRE’s broader platform, we see opportunities to strengthen both the customer offering and the long-term development of the group,” David Andersson continues.
Following the acquisition, ACRE has approximately 70 employees and operations stretching from Skåne in the south to Dalarna in the north. The combination further strengthens the group’s ability to share expertise across regions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, sustainability and local presence.
The acquisition marks another important step in ACRE’s continued growth journey and strengthens its position as a professional partner within arborist services, forestry, nature management and infrastructure-related services.
