Industrial group with the ambition to become the global frontrunner in sustainable ocean solutions

Ocean Collective was founded in 2022 by Jörgen Bergqvist, Vilhelm Sundström and Seven District. The initiative stems from Jörgen’s long and successful career in the seafood industry, combined with a joint conviction that the oceans will play a central role in solving tomorrow’s climate and food challenges. Building on this experience, Ocean Collective is established as an industrial group with the mission to transform how industries interact with the oceans — creating businesses that deliver both financial return and measurable positive impact.

The group is structured around verticals, starting with Blue Food, where established companies such as Korshags, Kosterfiskarn’s and innovation arm Ocean Next form the foundation. The Blue Food vertical also represents a strong buy-and-build opportunity, given that the industry is still underdeveloped and highly fragmented. By consolidating and developing niche leaders, while at the same time repositioning the portfolio toward clear sustainability leadership, Ocean Collective can accelerate transformation in seafood and beyond. Complementary partnerships in areas such as land-based aquaculture, circular resource flows and innovative ocean technologies further expand the scope and resilience of the platform in a way that is not available to smaller standalone companies.
