Ocean Collective strengthens with acquisition of Kosterfiskarn’s Uppland–Stockholm

Seven District portfolio company Ocean Collective has completed the acquisition of Kosterfiskarn’s Uppland–Stockholm AB, a family-owned distributor of seafood products in the Stockholm and Uppland regions.

Seven District portfolio company Ocean Collective has completed the acquisition of Kosterfiskarn’s Uppland–Stockholm AB, a family-owned distributor of seafood products in the Stockholm and Uppland regions.

The company will continue to operate independently from its base in northern Stockholm, with all employees remaining in their roles. Principal owner Jonas Hellblom will also remain active in the new structure.

“We are very pleased to further strengthen our commercial capabilities in the Swedish market by complementing our previous acquisition of Kosterfiskarn in the Stockholm area, creating a unified platform. This acquisition significantly reinforces our commercial capacity in the Nordic region’s largest market,” says Jörgen Bergqvist, CEO and co-founder of Ocean Collective.

Kosterfiskarn’s Uppland–Stockholm now joins Ocean Collective alongside Kosterfiskarn’s Stockholm–Mälardalen AB, Korshags Food AB, and Ocean Next AB, under one shared management team. The strengthened platform creates major synergies in production, procurement, logistics, and retail execution, while expanding opportunities for category development under the group’s two main brands, Korshags and Kosterfiskarn.

Anders Jacobson, board member of Ocean Collective and co-founder of Seven District, comments:

“This acquisition is another important step in Ocean Collective’s journey to build a transformative seafood group. By integrating family-owned businesses with strong local roots into a broader platform, Ocean Collective is well positioned to accelerate innovation and drive a more sustainable future for seafood.”

The acquisition marks a significant milestone for Ocean Collective as it continues to execute on its strategy to change humanity’s relationship with the ocean and accelerate new sustainable solutions in the seafood sector.
